Phillip and James schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places, includes a restored old-time classroom, a farmers markeet with home-grown food and handcrafted products from area farms and rural artisans. School, 4-H, FFA, and youth group tour start April 1, 2005. Our admission is, $2.00 for students-teachers and adults are free. The highlight of our tour is our restored classroom, complete with chalkboards, old fashioned desks and memorabilia that is restored exactly as this school would have looked eight decades ago. We allow teachers who wish to do so, to teach their calss in our classroom as a special experience for students and the teacher as well. We'll even provide the teacher with an old-fashioned dress to wear. We'll provide a knick-knack for a memory of their visit as well as popcorn or some other treat. You can customize your tour or visit to fit you educational needs. Covered wagon tours for schools of our elk and buffalo pastures begin April 15, 2005, or as soon as the weatther turns warm and dry. We charge $3.00 per student and $5.00 for adult sponsors-but, two adults are admitted free. The tours include two hours in the covered wagon with discussion of our operation and great opportunities to observe and even feed elk, buffalo and fallow deer. We talk about the animals, their heritage on the land and some of the products that the animals give us. It is an experience in the outdoors, with wildlikfe, on the farm and about our heritage on the land.
