Heartland Experience is a network of farms and rural businesses in Cedar and Knox counties in northeast Nebraska, banning together to promote real country adventures for travelers and those interested in learning where their food comes from. Our network offers a covered wagon ride through elk and buffalo pastures, an opportunity to see Scottish Highland cattle grazing up close, a chance to gather eggs or photograph a sunflower field in full bloom. We offer a quiet cabin retreat, and a chance to see a unique open-air milking parlor or an organic vineyard.

In our group, we have a farmers market housed in a historic old schoolhouse. Our group consists of long-time family farmers, grazing experts, award-winning dairy families, entrepenuers, inventors and more! We are unique and diverse as a group, offering visitors a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the diversity and breadth of agriculture in this region.

We want folks to learn more about where their food and farm products come from and we give our visitors a real opportunity to understand the systems, the stewardship and the tender loving care that goes into our profession.
